Superhero Reading Night

Part of being a Title I school is getting to host one Academic Involvement Event for parents each semester.  Bickel puts on reading and math nights every year, and they are a blast!  This semester, our Title Team came up with a superhero themed night of fun for the whole family.  Parents, students, and teachers alike dressed up for the occasion and had so much fun!  Our 4th grade team pulled together to put on a pizza dinner to help raise funds for their annual Capital Field Trip in the spring.  The kindergarten room hosted a representative from the Twin Falls Public Library who read popular superhero books to the students.  The Public Library also brought their Bookmobile to park out front to encourage reading outside of school.  Each student was provided a blank comic book to write and animate their very own superhero story, and a superhero mask to color and decorate.  Bickel's annual Book Fair was hosted the same night as well, so parents could purchase new books to promote reading at home.  The whole night was a huge hit!  Around here, we love any excuse to have fun as a whole Bickel family!
