The past 4 years prior to coming to Bickel I was working at Everise Inc. I have a wife and son, and I’m very excited to be a Bickel Bobcat. Go Bobcats!

4th Grade

My name is Sarah Cameron, and I teach Title 1 reading interventions here at Bickel. This is my first year here and Bickel, and I couldn’t be more excited to join this lovely, lively community! I graduated with a degree in Community Studies and Education, and have enjoyed a career full of social work, English teaching, community gardening and art therapy before embarking on this journey in Elementary Education. I’m very passionate about helping our kids find their voices and explore the world of words through reading.
In the evenings, I also teach adult English learners at CSI, and love helping those students find their voices in a brand new language.
In my free time, you will find me reading (of course!), camping, bicycling, rock climbing, learning new languages, painting, gardening, and (trying) to learn to salsa dance. Go Bobcats!

4th Grade

Thanks for stopping by my profile! My name is Jill Fisher and I am a fourth grade teacher at Bickel. I am originally from the Preston, Idaho area, but I have lived in other parts of the country (Iowa and Massachusetts) for 23 years. My family and I moved back to Idaho this summer. When I have the time, I love to make modern quilts and enjoy things like dyeing fabric and thrifting vintage linens and clothing to upcycle into quilts. I really love the arts and hope to find unique ways to incorporate art instruction into our class work.

This is my eighth year teaching. I taught for seven years in a rural school in Iowa before I stayed home with my own four children. I have a degree in history from Utah State University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Iowa. I am happy to be a Bickel Bobcat!

My name is Rachel Idso, and I have been teaching in the Twin Falls School District (at Bickel) since 1999.  I spent my first eight years teaching sixth grade but when the district reconfigured and transitioned into the middle school format, I decided to change grade levels in order to continue teaching at the elementary level.  It is tremendously rewarding working with my students, and I feel honored to be a (small) part of their lives.

When I am not at Bickel, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family (I also really enjoy spending time by myself).  Cycling, hiking, and wilderness adventures are my favorite outside activities, but when I am “forced” to stay inside, I enjoy putting together jigsaw puzzles, writing letters, reading, and listening to the tangy sound of the five-string banjo.

My name is Jennifer McNeil. I teach kindergarten here at Bickel Elementary School. My favorite part of teaching at Bickel is that we have a fantastic staff and a great bunch of students. I couldn’t ask for a better place to teach.  I really enjoy teaching reading because once you learn to read so many doors are opened. I finished my Master’s Degree at Grand Canyon University. I have 3 fantastic adopted children. We also have 2 poodles, 2 pugs, 2 bunnies and 7 cats. Spare time…well…I don’t have much spare time. My kids and I are very involved with 4-H, sports and dance so that takes up a lot of our time. When I can, I love to scrap book and cross stitch.

Special Education Teacher
Resource

I currently teach K-5 Special Education.  All 24 years of my teaching career have been at Bickel Elementary.  My husband, Steve, is better known as Mr. Rahe, a special education teacher at Morningside Elementary. Our son, Seth, is a freshman in college and our daughter, Stephanie, is a junior in high school.

I love Bickel.  The very high ceilings, the grooves in the steps, the actual blackboards, and the little nooks and crannies are all great, but the most wonderful thing about Bickel is the sense of family.  With a smaller staff and smaller enrollment than most of the other schools, it truly is like a family.  My plan is to teach at Bickel until I can retire.

I started my teaching career at  the Mars Primary Center in Pennsylvania.  It was exciting because I got to teach at the district that I had graduated from.  I taught there for 8 years before I found my way to Wallace, Idaho and later White Sulphur Springs, MT. This is my 18th year of teaching elementary students.  Teaching has brought me much happiness and many exciting adventures.
