Hi there!  My name is Ann-Marie Dobbs and I am a first grade teacher at Bickel Elementary.  I can’t believe this is my 31st year of teaching and my 16th year as a Bickel Bobcat.  Mrs. Ridley was my 2nd grade teacher and I absolutely loved being a student in her classroom.  I knew from the very first day in her class that I wanted to be a teacher just like her.  I love the funny stories that are shared by the kids, the art projects, and the magic of watching a child learn to read.  When I am not in the classroom I enjoy all kinds of adventures like white water rafting, skiing, and going to new places with my friends.

Teacher
5th Grade
My name is Rachel Idso, and I have been teaching in the Twin Falls School District (at Bickel) since 1999.  I spent my first eight years teaching sixth grade but when the district reconfigured and transitioned into the middle school format, I decided to change grade levels in order to continue teaching at the elementary level.  It is tremendously rewarding working with my students, and I feel honored to be a (small) part of their lives.

When I am not at Bickel, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family (I also really enjoy spending time by myself).  Cycling, hiking, and wilderness adventures are my favorite outside activities, but when I am “forced” to stay inside, I enjoy putting together jigsaw puzzles, writing letters, reading, and listening to the tangy sound of the five-string banjo.

My name is Jennifer McNeil. I teach kindergarten here at Bickel Elementary School. My favorite part of teaching at Bickel is that we have a fantastic staff and a great bunch of students. I couldn’t ask for a better place to teach.  I really enjoy teaching reading because once you learn to read so many doors are opened. I finished my Master’s Degree at Grand Canyon University. I have 3 fantastic adopted children. We also have 2 poodles, 2 pugs, 2 bunnies and 7 cats. Spare time…well…I don’t have much spare time. My kids and I are very involved with 4-H, sports and dance so that takes up a lot of our time. When I can, I love to scrap book and cross stitch.

Hello! If you ever played “Where’s Waldo?” then you know how much fun it can be to search and find. When you’re looking for me, just keep your eyes peeled for the tallest teacher. At 6’4”, I’m easy to spot, and I do play basketball! I grew up in Southern Idaho exploring the outdoors, playing sports, and being the cheeriest, bass playing band geek you could find. After graduating from Declo High School, I studied at Hillsdale College in Michigan and continued to explore by teaching in places like Indonesia, Cameroon, and Paul, Idaho. Wherever I’ve gone, the best part is the lovely people. The students, families and staff at Bickel Elementary are no exception. I look forward to growing and becoming part of this community. If you’re ever in the building, look for me and give me a wave – it’s almost like finding Waldo!

Head Custodian
Administration

Hi, My name is Cindy Pearce. My husband Rick is my everything and we have a son and daughter who will always have my heart.

I have been an employee in the public education system since 1992. I spent 11 years as a paraprofessional/custodian at a small rural school with the Challis School District. Thinking it would be good to have a year round paycheck,  I spent 7 more years as custodian/head custodian after my maintenance boss and his wife talked me into it.  i was responsible for  overseeing a 5 person crew for 3 schools in Challis during the school year, Then 13 students were added to that during our summer cleaning months (cleaning schools within a 60 mile radius).

In 2010 I started helping my husband with our family business and helping with the care of my mother. During this time,  I was a Postmaster Relief and a route driver for the USPS.

In 2013 we took a leap of faith which brought us to Filer. It brought us closer to our grandchildren, which has been such a blessing. I began work with Chobani which did not last long as I found out I am not a factory person, and I like windows!

I then went to work with the Jerome School District and worked there for a couple of years before being told of a custodial position in Twin Falls, which was much closer to home. I have enjoyed working with many different individuals in the TFSD.

I must say Bickel Elementary will always be a favorite of mine. The history this school holds is amazing! I absolutely have loved working with the staff at Bickel, past and present. I look forward to making many more memories with everyone. I adore the little people who roam the halls and love seeing them grow from year to year.

Special Education Teacher
Resource

I currently teach K-5 Special Education.  All 22 years of my teaching career have been at Bickel Elementary.  My husband, Steve, is better known as Mr. Rahe, a 4th grade teacher at Morningside Elementary. Our son, Seth, is a junior in high school and our daughter, Stephanie, is a freshman.  Both attend TFHS.

I love Bickel.  The very high ceilings, the grooves in the steps, the actual blackboards, and the little nooks and crannies are all great, but the most wonderful thing about Bickel is the sense of family.  With a smaller staff and smaller enrollment than most of the other schools, it truly is like a family.  My plan is to teach at Bickel until I can retire.

I started my teaching career at  the Mars Primary Center in Pennsylvania.  It was exciting because I got to teach at the district that I had graduated from.  I taught there for 8 years before I found my way to Wallace, Idaho and later White Sulphur Springs, MT. This is my 16th year of teaching elementary students.  Teaching has brought me much happiness and many exciting adventures.
